Meet Rae.Dianz

The Full Story

Rae.Dianz is a poet, musician, and flutist whose sound lives at the crossroads of neo-soul, hip-hop, and rap. With a voice often compared to Lauryn Hill, she brings a raw yet melodic presence to every stage. Over the past eight years, she’s grown from the grassroots energy of GLBL VLLG to commanding stages across Philadelphia and beyond, from Ardmore Music Hall, where she opened for Talib Kweli, to the lush rainforest of Puerto Rico on a sponsored performance trip.

Her artistry thrives in collaboration—merging with house and Afro beats alongside collectives like BWC Sounds and Black Soul Summer, and working with DJs such as Joshua Lang and Brotha Taaj. She has appeared on Fawziyyah Heart’s All You Need for WXPN’s live series and recently recorded a full-length project with her father on drums. With three EPs released and a fourth in the works, Rae.Dianz continues to expand her discography with music that uplifts, challenges, and inspires.

Outside the studio, Rae.Dianz has served as a teaching artist with World Cafe Live, where she designed and led The Art of the Emcee, a curriculum created to empower young performers in lyricism and stagecraft. She has also hosted Rec Philly’s Open Mic and engages in grassroots initiatives through Philly City Repair, supporting local community gardens while offering artists a platform to share their voices at the annual Convergence event.

At her core, Rae.Dianz is a storyteller—using rhythm, poetry, and performance to illuminate truth, connect people, and remind audiences of the transformative power of music.

The Art of the Emcee is an interactive workshop designed to build confidence, creativity, and presence. Rooted in hip hop tradition, it explores performance etiquette, public speaking, songwriting, and the search for authentic identity. Participants learn how to command a room, channel their voice, and transform personal experiences into powerful expression — whether on stage, in the classroom, or in everyday life.

Born out of a Black Music City grant, The Sunrae Collective is a live band and creative ensemble led by Rae.Dianz. The project expands her vision of blending hip hop, soul, and jazz with community storytelling, resulting in a debut album and documentary that celebrate music as a force for connection and light.

Lucid Hues is Rae.Dianz’s visual art brand, centering hand-painted incense holders, lighters, and original works that explore color, energy, and ritual. Each piece is designed to bring beauty and mindfulness into everyday life.
